What is Saju (사주팔자)?
Saju (사주팔자), literally "Four Pillars and Eight Characters," is a traditional East Asian astrology system used for centuries in Korea, China, and Japan. It maps the exact year, month, day, and hour of a person's birth to a set of eight characters derived from the traditional sexagenary calendar. Practitioners interpret these characters and the interplay of their associated Five Elements to reveal personality traits, life tendencies, and the rhythm of fortune.
How accurate is Saju Whisper?
Saju Whisper uses the classical Ganzhi (干支) calendar algorithm with True Solar Time adjustment, providing results equivalent to most professional Saju software. As with all traditional astrology systems, the reading is a cultural and philosophical framework for self-reflection, not a scientifically validated prediction tool.
I don't know my birth time. Can I still get a reading?
Yes. If your birth time is unknown, check the "Time Unknown" option on the input form. Saju Whisper will calculate the three known pillars (Year, Month, Day) and show six of the eight characters. The Hour Pillar will be marked as unknown. You will still receive a meaningful Five Elements analysis based on the six available characters.
Is my data stored or shared?
Saju Whisper does not store your personal information on our servers. The birth details you enter are processed in real time to calculate your chart and are not retained after your session ends. Please see our Privacy Policy for full details.
